Less than five years after Grand Slam Endorsee Bill Lunde left competitive golf, he earned a spot in next week's PGA Championship by winning the Turning Stone Resort Championship on Sunday.

Lunde shot 6-under 66 and rallied for the come-from-behind victory with a 17-under 271 total.  He earned a PGA TOUR exemption through the end of 2012 and 250 FedExCup points for his first PGA TOUR win in 53 career starts.

"I started driving it really well, hitting it down the fairway," Lunde said. "So that kind of changed the whole game. I went from scrambling to make pars to having 9 irons that I could hit close.

Lunde made the weekend cut by one stroke at 3 under and vaulted into contention with a 64 on Saturday. He still trailed Cejka by four shots heading into the final round. Lunde climbed to the top of Sunday's leaderboard with six birdies and a 30 on the front side. He first reached 17 under with a birdie at No. 9..

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL DECEMBER 18, 2009
Tiger Woods was named the PGA TOUR Player of the Year and Marc Leishman was named PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year by their fellow competitors on the PGA TOUR, as announced today by PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem.

Leishman becomes the first Australian to be named Rookie of the Year since the award’s inception in 1990. It marks the first time that international players (Andres Romero in 2008) have won rookie honors in back-to-back seasons since Vijay Singh (1993) and Ernie Els (1994).

“Congratulations to Tiger and Marc for their accomplishments in 2009,” said PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem. “Both players enjoyed outstanding seasons capped off by success in the Playoffs. The recognition by their peers is the one of the highest compliments a PGA TOUR member can receive.”

PEI golf endorsees finished in the top 20 of this week’s Legends Reno-Tahoe Open. Marc Leishman - Marc finished tied for 14th in Reno to continue a strong rookie season on the TOUR. This is also his second top 10 finish, to go with five top 25s this year. Chris Riley - Chris posted a tie for 17th this weekend. During the second round, Riley put together a streak most TOUR golfers only hope for, carding a 27 (nine shots under par) on his first nine holes. To put that in perspective, only 17 players in the field shot nine under (or better) over the full 72 hole tournament!
